This isn't a workshop. You get credits, tools, and time to build something that actually works and ships. Whether you're solving a local problem, exploring a wild idea, or just want to see what Gemini can do — this is your runway.
Organized by Machine Learning Bangladesh, with support from Major League Hacking (MLH) and powered by Google for Developers, participants will get direct, hands-on access to the Gemini API, Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and Google AI Studio. No prior cloud experience needed. Just bring your laptop and your ideas.
About the challenge
Two prizes. One afternoon. Build something that makes people say WHOA.
Best Use of Gemini API — Show what Gemini can actually do beyond a basic chat box. Build a personalized advice tool, a research summarizer, a creative content generator, a code assistant — anything that uses the Gemini API in a genuinely meaningful or surprising way. Think of the possibilities: Gemini can understand language like a human, analyze information like a supercomputer, and generate creative content like code, scripts, music, and more.
Best App Deployed on Google Cloud — Get it live and working for the world, not just your laptop. Use Cloud Run, App Engine, Firebase Hosting, or any Google Cloud service to deploy a real, functional app during the event. The sky isn't the limit. The Cloud is.
You can compete for both prizes with the same project.
Requirements
What to Build
Build any app, tool, or experience that uses at least one of the following:
- Gemini API via Google AI Studio or Vertex AI
- Google Cloud — Cloud Run, App Engine, Firebase, Antigravity, or any GCP service
Your project should do at least one of these:
- Solve a real problem (local or global)
- Create something genuinely creative or entertaining
- Demonstrate a novel or impressive use of the technology
You can build a web app, mobile app, API, Chrome extension, chatbot, or anything else — as long as it's functional and built using Google tools.
What to Submit
Submit your project on Devpost before 3:30 PM on May 12, 2025. Submissions must include all of the following:
- Project name and description — what it does, why you built it, and the problem it solves or value it creates
- Working demo — either a live deployed link (strongly preferred) or a screen recording (maximum 3 minutes) showing the app in action
- Source code link — GitHub, Replit, Glitch, or any public repository
- Tools used — a brief note on which Google technologies you used and how (Gemini API, Cloud Run, Firebase, etc.)
- Prize track(s) — indicate whether you are submitting for Best Use of Gemini API, Best App Deployed on Google Cloud, or a bot
Incomplete submissions will not be judged.
